Ričardas Rotomskis

Ričardas Rotomskis is a respected Lithuanian biophysicist and professor. He earned his physics degrees from Vilnius University and later became the head of the Biomedical Physics Laboratory at the National Cancer Institute in Vilnius, Lithuania.

His research centers on the use of fluorescence spectroscopy and imaging methods in the early detection and non-invasive treatment of cancer. Bridging the often separate fields of medicine and physics, prof. Rotomskis has led numerous research projects that explore the application of lasers in medicine and investigate the photophysics and photochemistry of biologically active molecules.

For his significant contributions, Prof. Ričardas Rotomskis has received several prestigious honors, such as the T. H. Maiman Award (1993), the Lithuanian Science Prize (2002), and the Cross of the Officer of the Order of the Grand Duke of Lithuania Gediminas (2021).
