We are delighted to announce that this year’s panel discussion was organised in partnership with Student Scientific Society of Naturalists (Studentų Gamtininkų Mokslinė Draugija).
In this Open Readings conference panel discussion we will explore whether the “revival” of extinct species is becoming a realistic and worth pursuing scientific direction or remains a highly speculative idea that raises more questions than answers. The discussion will address the causes of species extinction, the relationship between de-extinction and GMO technologies, the importance of gene and seed banks, biodiversity conservation, and the potential benefits or risks that such technologies could pose for future ecology and society.
Date & Time: April 30th, 14:30
Location: National Center For Physical Sciences & Technology (NFTMC), A101 – Saulėtekio ave. 3, Vilnius
