Pupils’ session

May 16, 2025

Thinking about becoming a scientist? We’ll help you take your first steps into the world of science!

We invite all high school students who are interested in natural sciences and enjoy experimenting to start planning and conducting scientific research, and to present their scientific projects and experiments at the conference “Open Readings 2025”!

Students and teachers can participate in the entire conference from May 13–16, where scientists and young researchers from around the world will present their talks. But that’s not all – there will also be a special session (on May 16) where invited lecturers will share fascinating, easy-to-understand insights about their fields of work, the scientific research they perform daily, and what it means to be a scientist.

After the guest speakers’ presentations, students will present their own research in biology, chemistry, physics, and modeling. Students choose a topic in one of these fields, examine it, investigate it experimentally/theoretically/digitally, draw conclusions from the results, and finally present their entire project in the form of a poster presentation (A0 format poster). During the student session on May 16, participants will showcase their work and answer questions during the poster presentation segment.

Finally, we will invite participants to tours of the laboratories at the Life Sciences Center and the Center for Physical and Technological Sciences, laser companies, and workshops organized by the Vilnius STEAM Center.
