Dr. Andrew Pun

Having earned his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 2013, Andrew Pun pursued a Ph.D. at Columbia University. Following the completion of his studies, Andrew served as a postdoctoral researcher at ETH Zürich until 2022. Currently, Andrew Pun holds the position of Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California, San Diego.

Andrew Pun and his interdisciplinary research group concentrate on utilizing synthetic chemistry to manipulate and investigate the dynamics of photogenerated excitons. They aim to study hybrid semiconductor systems, combining the best properties of organic and inorganic semiconductors, for a variety of applications ranging from catalysis to photovoltaics.
