Desmoulin’s Whorl Snail Vertigo moulinsiana has most recently been assessed for The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species in 2011 and is listed as Vulnerable under criteria A2ac. It has been in decline throughout much of its range and has been protected in Lithuania since 2003 and was categorized as a rare species in the Lithuanian Red Data Book. 50 reference areas were randomly selected to assess the distribution of V. moulinsiana in 2024 August and the characteristics of mollusc communities (Fig. 1). 
The species was found in only three of the fifty selected localities, so data from previous studies were added for analysis [1]. The occurrence of V. moulinsiana were strongly associated with local hydrological conditions. In the habitats of V. moulinsiana, aquatic and terrestrial molluscs were found together with V. moulinsiana, their distribution varied between the different study sites.
